Farrakhan, Wright, and Muammar Kadhafi

Ten years after first stepping foot in Wright’s church, in October 1995 Obama accompanied Wright to Farrakhan’s “Million Man March.”

(Jeremiah Wright’s close friendship with Farrakhan goes back at least to the 1980s. Wright joined Farrakhan on a 1984 trip to Libya to visit Moammar Gadhafi.)

In January 1996, Farrakhan returned from another trip to Libya. It was the same month in which Barack Obama became an Illinois State Senator. By then, Obama had been attending Rev. Wright’s church for ten years, the latter five as a committed member. The New York Times reported:

“Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam, visited Libya this week to meet Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi (Moamer Kadhafi) and discussed how to “unify, mobilize and organize” American Muslims for elections in the United States this year.

Colonel Qaddafi (Kadhafi), the Libyan leader, quoted by the state press agency, said: “Our confrontation with America used to be like confronting a fortress from outside. Today we have found an opening to enter the fortress and to confront it from within.”

The New York Times reported August 27, 1996 (h/t GS), that Farrakhan had applied to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control for “permission” to accept a $1 billion “donation” pledged by Qaddafi (Kadhafi) during Farrakhan’s January 1996 trip to Libya, which had been under U.S. sanctions for years due to its “links to terrorism” that “bar most business transactions between the two countries and limit travel.”

To some people, all of these unwholesome links among Obama’s many strange friends may somehow seem ‘irrelevant’ or ‘inconsequential’, but to those of us who actually THINK, the dots are already connected, and what they outline is not a pretty picture.
