Which party is responsible for the out of control spending in this country? Democrat Party, no doubt about it.
The republicans have tried, and tried again to cut the spending, but they always lose. Let me amend that by saying the Conservatives in the republican party. They try but they fail and the spend-thrifts win. And the American people are having to pay.
This Sandy Relief Bill passed today. Some $60 billion dollars, wham, down the drain, money we don’t have. It was reported there was a massive amount of pork in this bill that has nothing whatsoever to do with Sandy relief – stuff like Funding for Amtrak, salaries for the FBI, and money to states not affected by the storm, as far away as Alaska.
This is what is so disgusting. The little reporting I have heard on it, the republicans have been chastised (always is their fault according the corrupt media) for holding up the bill trying to find savings somewhere else in the budget to offset this massive spending.
Nevertheless, it passed today. I’m not sure what is contained in it. How would you know?
The Club for Growth and other citizen watch groups singled the bill out as not serving the taxpayers’ interests.
Here is an announcement from that group praising the efforts to offset the spending – in other words, trying to put some skids on the spending that is going to bankrupt the country:
Club for Growth President Chris Chocola: “Congressman Mulvaney and his allies deserve praise for their efforts to provide an offset to the billions of dollars worth of unpaid-for spending on Sandy relief.”
Washington, DC – The Club for Growth today praised the efforts of fiscal conservatives, led by Congressman Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), to offset disaster appropriations for Hurricane Sandy with an across-the-board spending cut to discretionary spending. The amendment was co-sponsored by Reps. McClintock (R-CA), Duncan (R-SC), and Lummis (R-WY):
They tried but trying is not good enough. The spending continues.
Of course it’s not a matter of not wanting to send relief to Sandy victims. But in reality, it’s not going to any of the victims anyway. It’s going to the government of the states which probably will not even be spent for Sandy related problems. Which is proably the real reason Christie and Cuomo are so very interested in getting the relief, it goes in their coffers to do what they want with it.

Here are a few of the things verified to be funded in the Sandy Relief legislation that have nothing to do with Sandy Relief.
“$500 million for weather forecasting and to help create an ocean zoning plan–the later one of Obama’s pet projects. Also included are $10 million for FBI salaries $2 billion for road construction across the country, as well as funding for the Head Start program, roof repairs at the Smithsonian, and $150 million for fisheries across the country.”
