Mosque at Ground Zero?

Never!

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war.
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!
Christ, the royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See His banner go!

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war.
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!

At the sign of triumph
Satan’s host dost flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
On to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver
At the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise!

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war.
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!

Like a mighty army
Moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
All one body we,
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war.
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!

Onward, then ye people,
Join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song;
Glory, laud, and honor,
Unto Christ the King:
This thro’ countless ages
Men and angels sing.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war.
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!

    The hymn is referring to a spiritual warfare using weapons “not made by hands.”

    “Onward, Christian Soldiers” is a 19th century English hymn. The words were written by Sabine Baring-Gould in 1865, and the music was composed by Arthur Sullivan (Gilbert and Sullivan) in 1871. Sullivan named the tune “St. Gertrude,” after the wife of his friend Ernest Clay Ker Seymer, at whose country home he composed the tune.

    The Salvation Army adopted the hymn as its favoured processional.

    The hymn’s theme is taken from references in the New Testament to the Christian being a soldier for Christ, for example II Timothy 2:3 (KJV): “Thou shalt endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

    “The weapons we use in our fight are not made by human hands. Rather, they are powerful weapons from God.”

    How many Progressives are “literalist” we are not dealing with bi linear thinkers.

    They hear but they are not into any deep analysis. Most of them wait for talking points and then regurgitate those. Parrots who insist on nuance when they hypocritically misrepresent their own ideology’s negative connotations.

  5. Plus, a lot of the material on Journolist is actually pretty banal. In addition to being partisan hacks, a lot of these guys turn out to be pedestrian thinkers. Disappointing.

    “Pedestrian Thinkers” that about covers it.

    Ree,

    From Tucker’s article:

    “”Again and again, we discovered members of Journolist working to coordinate talking points on behalf of Democratic politicians, principally Barack Obama. That is not journalism, and those who engage in it are not journalists. They should stop pretending to be. The news organizations they work for should stop pretending, too.””

    Yet it continues. The talking points failed Howard Dean when confronted with truth. And then I read the headlines referring to this interview and they highlight and repeated the lies he was telling as in what he “says” and “tells” even though what he said and told was not the truth. Goggle: Howard Dean, Chris Wallace, Sherrod. They have no shame.

    And yet in reality, Chris Wallace owned Dean:

    Take away punch at the very end: The administration being so afraid of Glenn Beck….. 🙂

    The reality is that the name of Shirley Sherrod or the clip never was on Fox News until after she had already been fired. So the Agriculture Department as well as the NAACP, and the White House acted on what they “feared” would appear on Glenn Beck.

    They don’t let the facts get in the way of their talking points. Fact is, everybody now knows it!!!! That is, except those who are delusional and persist in carrying the deceit forward.

  7. Bella,

    There is an edit half way through her video at the 21:00 minute mark. The explanation is they changed the tape, okay we have to take their word for it.. But the NAACP needs to join us all in the 21st century – video can be captured really easily today. People can record video now with their camera phones. This time they ducked a controversy, next time they may not be so lucky.

    Breitbart is offering “rewards” for proof of racism, imagine if someone takes him up on his offer, and sends him something unfortunate.

    There was a lesson to be learned from this last incident. The NAACP attacked the Tea Party trying to smear the movement with claims of racism. People in Glass Houses shouldn’t throw stones.

    It would be better for all if the Racist label stopped being slung around so cavalierly.

    The real flesh and blood violence ALWAYS comes from the muslims.
    Christmas, 2010
    MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) Dozens of armed men attacked the church on Christmas Eve, dragging the pastor out of his home and shooting him to death. Two young men from the choir who were rehearsing for a late-night carol service also were slain.

    The group of about 30 attackers armed with guns and knives also killed two people who were passing by Victory Baptist Church. The assailants only left after setting the church and pastor’s house ablaze.

    The group blamed for the church attacks — the radical Muslim sect known as Boko Haram — used to be based in Bauchi, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) from the area where the bombs went off. The group is now headquartered in Maiduguri, where the church attacks took place Christmas Eve.

    At least 38 people died over the holiday weekend in attacks across Nigeria, including the six killed at the churches in the country’s north by suspected members of a radical Muslim sect. In central Nigeria, 32 died in a series of bomb blasts.
