Barack’s Magical Mystery Tour

Wow.  Barack Obama is taking a trip.  He will be traveling to Jordan, Israel, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, in that order.  Now this is a big deal, people.  He has somewhere around 300 foreign policy adivsers to prepare him.  I don’t know if they are all going with him or not.   It seems that for sure Sens. Jack Reed, of Rhode Island, and Chuck Hagel, of Nebraska will accompany him.

He really does need to make a good impression and keep the gaffes to a minimum since he’s not ranking too high in the “commander-in-chief” department.  In a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, only 48 percent of registered voters said Obama would make a good commander-in-chief as compared to 72 percent for John McCain.

His advisers might want to begin with some of the basics, as in, how many states are there in the United States of America, Senator Obama?  And I sure hope he can speak more than one language, unlike the rest of us “embarrassing” Americans who only speak English.

But every eye will be upon him to be sure and ABC, CBS, and NBC are sending their top anchors, Charles Gibson, Katie Couric, and Brian Williams, just to be sure we have wall to wall news coverage of this

Of course, John McCain also made a similar trip to kind of check things out overseas and we barely even knew he went.  His arrival in Baghdad was a mere afterthought to Brian Williams, — a couple of sentences preceeded by “In other political news…..”   But that’s okay,  This is “Barack the Great” we’re talking about here.

This quote from the CNN article linked below pretty much sums it up.  “People have been saying to me, ‘Look this guy has only been in national politics for three years, let alone international politics.’  We don’t really know exactly what he is going to do.”

And “mercy boo-koo”  :-)  to you, too.
